I am an Australian teacher and writer. My picture books, short stories and novels are often inspired by my travels. My children's novel, "The Dragon Way Home", for example, was inspired by the ten years I spent living in China.
My muse is very fickle so I write poems, short stories and novels in multiple genres. I write for both children and adults, often tackling two projects at the same time. I have been the recipient of several prestigious book awards.

I have just re-edited and republished an old short story collection. It is amazing how much some stories can date in 15-20 years! In one of the stories, I had a character exercising using a Nintendo Wii. I'm sure some people still do that, but it certainly doesn't sound contemporary.
